We weten allemaal dat Z-Vex pedalen geweldig zijn in geluidskwaliteit en veelzijdigheid. Maar we weten ook dat ze behoorlijk kostbaar kunnen zijn. De nieuwe Vextron serie is erop gericht om lager geprijsde pedalen te bieden, maar wèl met Z-Vex kwaliteit! De Mastotron is één van de nieuwe betaalbare Vextron serie pedalen. Heb je zoiets eerder gehoord? Dit pedaal is niet zo extreem als de fuzz factory, maar stelt je in staat om subtiele wijzigingen aan te brengen in de heavy subby fuzz. Werkt goed voor gitaar, maar ook voor basgitaar, keyboard en zelfs complete tracks. Dankzij de “push/relax” knop, kan je eenvoudig de impedance van de ingang regelen, waardoor je de wijze waarop de fuzz op je spel reageert kan aanpassen. De 3-positie subs schakelaar laat je bepalen hoeveel sub geluid er uit het pedaal komt. Met dit betaalbare pedaal heb je totale controle over de golfvorm, sustain, attack, decay en textuur van de fuzz.

The controls are as follows: from the upper left, there is a sequence/ random/ step switch which sets the function of the left stomp switch, a speed control for the sequence/random mode, 8 individual carrier pitch adjustment knobs, the left stomp switch which enters tap tempos or operates as a manual step control, and the true-bypass stomp switch on the right.  ZVex Machine Pedal users in 1999 are very sophisticated. Take the old conventions: of in on the right, out on the left, battery connected when input plug is in place, use this pedal before that one for a certain sound, reverse for another, positive ground, negative ground, pedal switching systems... we're living in a 'been there, done that' pedal world. Most every guitarist is familiar with the limitations of putting one fuzz or distortion into another... losing the detail but perhaps gaining that fun "shutdown" effect as one overloads the other, and the "where's my fuzz?" experience of playing a fuzz into a really dirty amp. Limitations. They increase your creativity but hob-gobble your plan.

 ZVex Seek Trem The Seek-Trem is an eight-stage sequencer-controlled tremolo pedal. The controls are, from left to right, 4/8/6 step selector switch, speed (tempo), and 8 sequencer volume controls. All of the controls work in the opposite direction from conventional because the pots are smoother this way. This means you have to turn them to the left to make them louder, or in the case of the speed control, to make it faster. There is also a true-bypass stomp switch which causes the sequencer to “halt” and wait at step number 1 until the pedal is turned back on.

 ZVex Tremorama De Tremorama is voor de Seek-Trem, wat de Ooh-Wah is voor de Seek-Wah. Als je dat begrijpt, dan ben je een echte ZVex-pert! Simpel gezegd, heeft de Tremorama alle functies van de Seek-Trem plus een extra footswitch aan de linkerkant waarmee je de random mode kan selecteren, welke zo ongeveer klinkt als een slecht gitaar-akkoord welke erin schiet in het tempo van de tremolo. Anders is de Tremorama een eight-stage sequencer-controlled tremolo pedaal. De knoppen zijn, van links naar rechts, 4/8/6 step-selectie schakelaar, speed (tempo), en 8 sequencer volume knopjes. Alle knoppen werken in tegengestelde richting, omdat de pots op deze manier soepeler draaien. Je moet ze dus naar links draaien om ze luider te maken! Natuurlijk heeft de Tremorama een true-bypass schakelaar, waardoor de sequencer ook stopt en weer klaarstaat bij stap 1.
