Je kan dus op ieder moment je muzikale inspiratie vastleggen of meespelen met je favoriete liedjes. Je kan liedjes in je eigen tempo leren spelen, dankzij de ingebouwde preamp met pitch-stable speed adjustment. Hiermee kan je de snelheid van de MP3's aanpassen, terwijl de toonsoort gelijk blijft. Je kan supersnel MP3 bestanden versturen van en naar je computer via de ingebouwde USB aansluiting. De Ovation iDea beschikt ook over een stereo ingang zodat je een CD-speler of MP3-speler kan aansluiten. Je kan op deze manier zonder computer liedjes opnemen op de gitaar. Verder beschikt de iDea over een hoofdtelefoon aansluiting, LCD scherm, EQ, ingebouwd stemapparaat, joystick, en ingebouwde microfoon.
