 Ibanez RG2627ZE Prestige Bl… Ibanez's 7-string collaboration with Steve Vai, and its result, the 7-string Universe, marked Ibanez as the leader in 7-string guitar building. But it wasn't until the 90s, and the explosion of the alternative metal scene, that the instrument's possibilities began to be explored by a wide range of players. By the time other guitar makers woke up and smelled the 7-string coffee, Ibanez had eaten their lunch. To this day, Ibanez is the only guitar maker that can claim decades of 7-string guitar building success. The Edge-Zero has a sharp knife-edge for extremely accurate tremolo playing. This tremolo also uses Ibanez innovations to keep string action constant and the bridge surface smooth. The specially designed arm socket prevents unnecessary wobble from the arm while providing full control over the arm's torque. The USA-made EMG® 707 active pickups are designed specifically for the 7-string, built clearly articulate the full range- low B on up to the highest high. The Barless Top-Lok eliminates the need for a retainer bar to maintain string tension. Through its simple design, it holds the correct angle for the strings without one.
