Zestien jaar geleden wist iedereen dat een vette mahonie toon en sustain ook betekende dat je een oncomfortabele zware gitaar om je nek had. Toen kwam de SA van Ibanez die het spel veranderde. De SA is dun aan de zijkant voor optimaal comfort, en dikker bij de hals, pickups en brug voor een geweldige toon. Hij heeft een mahonie body met flame maple top, driedelige maple hals met rosewood toets, SAT Pro II brug, AHS1 en AHS2 nek en midden pickups en True Duo brug pickup.
