Met evenredige Gretsch-formule maple ketels geeft deze drumset een vintage Gretsch-klank, terwijl iedere drum zijn eigen onderscheidende geluid heeft. Met een 10-laags geheel maple ketel met 30 graden draagranden, zowel het beslag als de resonante houten spanranden zijn gecontoured om de fundamenteel warme houtklank te verbeteren. De gecontourde spanranden zorgen voor een natuurlijke open klank. De spanrand heeft ook een geperste metalen ring die stevig in de houten ring vastgemaakt is, waarbij de bovenkant van de metalen ring iets over de houten ring uitsteekt. Wanneer je rimshots of rimclicks slaat, mengen de metaalklanken zich met warme houtklanken. De metalen ring voegt ook een extra dimensie van duurzaamheid toe.
