Een vlak bovenblad en een 'verouderde' lakafwerking brengen de Gibson klassieker ES-335 binnen het bereik van toegeweide spelers zoals jij. Maple bovenblad, achterblad en zijkanten worden bevestigd op een massief maple middenblok en een mahonie hals met palissander toets. De '57 Classic humbuckers vertalen de natuurlijke resonantie van de body in opzwepende jazzklanken of verschroeiende vervormde leads. Het 1960's dunne en toelopende halsprofiel is snel en comfortabel, terwijl de gebonden boven- en achterbladen, de vintage tulip-stemknoppen, de nikkelen hardware en de parelmoeren inleg de fantastische visuele aantrekkingskracht vergroten.

Direct vanaf zijn introductie in 1958 als 's werelds eerste semi-hollowbody elektrische gitaar is het een steun en toeverlaat geweest voor speler die de heerlijke, ronde, rijpe klanken voor jazz en blues wilden uitbalanceren met de edge en sustain van een volbloed solidbody. Nu maakt de Gibson Custom Shop exacte kopieën van de ES-335 zoals ze de Kalamazoo fabriek verlieten in 1958. In dat jaar werden er maar 267 gemaakt, maar de originele vintage 335's groeiden langzamerhand in populariteit, met een piek in 1967 dankzij Eric Clapton, die veel gebruik maakte van een cherry ES-335 in de band Cream.

Door de asymmetrische vorm is de hals uiterst comfortabel.
