 Epiphone Les Paul Ultra Fad… Hoewel de Epiphone Les Paul Ultra een schoonheid is, is het meer dan gewoon dezelfde oude Les Paul in een nieuw jasje. In feite heeft hij twee belangrijke veranderingen ondergaan ten opzichte van de standaard Les Paul lijn. De eerste verandering is direct duidelijk wanneer je de gitaar oppakt. Je merkt direct dat hij lichter is, deze gewichtsbesparing werd bereikt door kamers uit de mahonie body te snijden. Dat maakt de Ultra niet alleen comfortabeler om langdurig te bespelen, maar het heeft ook een belangrijke invloed op de klank. Het tweede verschil is de 'buik-contour' aan de achterkant van de gitaar. Hierdoor kun je de gitaar dichterbij je lichaam houden terwijl je zit.
