Les sonorités de piano de concert d’un Clavinova ont été créées grâce à l’échantillonnage d’un grand piano de concert Yamaha, précurseur du CFX, le piano sélectionné pour l’interprétation du vainqueur de l’édition 2010 du fameux concours international Frédéric Chopin. Le clavier doit répondre parfaitement à l’impulsion de vos doigts. Parce que le clavier joue un rôle si important, il doit vous permettre de jouer avec la même précision durant de longues périodes. C’est pourquoi toutes les touches sont équipées du système Keyboard Stabilizers. Ce procédé améliore énormément la stabilité et la durabilité des touches dans le temps.
Sur le Clavinova, vous conservez toujours le même plaisir de jouer, quel que soit l’endroit où vous frappez les touches. En effet, la distance entre la base de la touche et le point d’appui est extrêmement longue, contrairement à d’autres systèmes. Cela signifie que, même lorsque vous pressez les touches vers le milieu de celles-ci, plutôt qu’au bord, vous conservez la même souplesse de toucher et maîtrisez les nuances avec la même précision.

Cependant, vous avez peut-être pu noter que lorsque le volume est faible, il est parfois difficile d'entendre les aigus et les basses. Sur le Clavinova, la fonction Intelligent Acoustic Control (IAC) ajuste automatiquement la qualité du son en fonction du réglage de volume que vous avez choisi. L’ajustement de l’équalisation des haut parleurs se fait automatiquement, permettant par exemple de relever les basses et les aigus à faible volume, pour un son toujours parfaitement équilibré. Cette nouvelle fonction est une fonction exclusive créée par Yamaha.
