The original Ibanez Tight-Tune bridge and tailpiece promote superior transfer of string vibration without unwanted movement. The FRM100TR features DiMarzio® pickups favored by Paul. The bridge and neck positions feature DiMarzio® Injectors™, while the middle features a DiMarzio® Area '67™. They are designed with hum-cancelling construction to eliminate the noise but retain single-coil tone. These pickups have a warm, modern tone compared to vintage single coil pickups, and provide a clear, tight sound. The sound stays true even under high gain settings, so solos can be clearly heard when performing with a group. The classic bright and clean sound is easy to achieve. The neck of FRM100TR is different than the previous RG shapes in the Paul Gilbert signature series. It's thicker and fatter - 22mm@1st fret and 24mm@12th fret - for a classic feel. The 3 pc mahogany/maple/mahogany neck offers the player a fat and tight sound with a solid grip for comfortable playability which Paul demanded.
