Takamine G220 Natural Satin This is one of Takamine's entry-level models, the G220-NS (Natural Satin) uses a NEX body shape and is purely acoustic. Because of this the guitar is affordable but yet still benefits from the high build quality and excellent grade of raw materials offered by Takamine. The NEX body shape has a pinched waist and curvaceous body line which sits comfortably when played with a strap and also when perched on the lap. The top has been made using Solid Spruce whilst the sides and rear are Mahogany and the blend of both woods provide a sound that has a bright top end but also plenty of depth and substance. The neck is made from Mahogany with a Rosewood fretboard that has inlaid Pearloid dot markers for fret orientation, the headstock has a blck gloss overlay and 6 high quality Chrome machine heads configured as 3 on each side. The bridge like the fretboard is Rosewood and hosts 6 nylon bridge pins that keep the strings firmly in place along with a compensated saddle for ease of playing. The cosmetics are completed by a concentric ring rosette that encircles the sound hole and edged body binding.
