Maxon TOD9 True Tube Overdrive
Manufacturers are always bragging about how “their” overdrive pedal sounds more like a tube amp than any other. Well, Maxon decided that the best way to re-create the full-bodied sound and dynamic response of a tube amp is to use a real tube, and thus was born the TOD-9 True Tube Overdrive. So if solid-state overdrives just aren’t cutting it for you, get to the truth of the matter and get the True Tube Overdrive from Maxon!

Maxon OD820 Overdrive Pro While many consider the OD808 to be the greatest overdrive ever created, Maxon is not a company to rest on its laurels. Instead of basking in the glowing praise, Maxon has focused on the user's feedback to come up with an all-new overdrive circuit that addresses the key shortcomings of other units - the result is the OD-820 Overdrive Pro. Like the OD808, the OD-820 distorts signal in the amplifier section of the circuit rather than having a separate clipping stage, which provides a smoother, more realistic tube-like overdrive than other methods. The higher voltage supplied to the amplifier section provides slightly more clipping than the OD808 or OD-9. The OD-820 uses only JRC4558 op amps for the warmest overdrive tone possible.

Maxon VOP9 Vintage Overdriv… Sometimes greatness gets overlooked. One example of this is the OD820 Overdrive Pro from Maxon’s Vintage Series. In the mid 90’s Maxon released the OD820 in response to the deluge of boutique overdrives being offered by DIY builders around the world. Since most of these “corksniffer” pedals were simply variations on the company’s legendary 808 overdrive circuit to begin with, Maxon felt compelled to “one-up” the one-uppers with the OD820. When you’re ready for greatness, the new Maxon VOP9 Vintage Overdrive Pro is ready for you!

Maxon ROD880 Real Overdrive The first offering in the Maxon Real Tube Series is the ROD880 Real Overdrive. Based on the vintage TK999 Tube King, The ROD880 overdrive will add warmth and incredible sustain to any guitar rig. The ROD880 works very much like an additional preamp for your amplifier, and you'll be amazed at how realistic its tube amp tones actually are. When combined with the various Drive settings on your amp the ROD880 becomes a very powerful tone shaping tool. All of the ROD880's tones are kept clear and noise-free via the rear mounted, switchable Noise Reduction circuitry with variable Threshold control and a 1:2 noise reduction ratio. This tiny tone arsenal is powered via a standard 9-volt DC adaptor, allowing easy integration into your pedalboard or rack setup. When you're ready for the real thing, the ROD880 Real Overdrive delivers. Included adapter.

Maxon ROD881 Real Overdrive… A tricked-out version of the ROD880, the ROD881 Real Overdrive/Distortion offers even more tone shaping control than its older cousin. Powered by a hand-selected 12AY7EH preamp tube, the ROD881 takes all the great overdriven tube sounds of the ROD880 and turbo charges them by adding a switchable Distortion mode for searing, super-saturated guitar tones that rival the biggest of the big rigs in the amp world. In addition, the ROD881 features a Footswitchable Boost mode that effectively adds another channel to your amplifier.

T-Rex MAB Michael Angelo Ba… Michael Angelo Batio wanted a guitar pedal that would give him creamy, classic overdrive without clouding his unique touch and tone. Denmark's producer of high-end and custom effects pedals, T-Rex, produced an overdrive unit with a sound sweet enough to make an angel cry—but with an earthy bite and punch! From a medium blues crunch to a rock guitar wail, Michael Angelo overdrive pedal covers the full spectrum of overdrive distortion. Michael Angelo Batio's tonal masterpiece Let there be no doubt: the Michael Angelo Batio Overdrive was created for this guitarist and his brand of melodic heavy rock moody, moving, majestic. But the core of this pedal is a warm, natural-sounding smooth distortion that will appeal to any guitarist looking for the best possible overdrive.

Visual Sound Open Road Over… You like the great sound of the Route 808, but you want a more open sounding, amp-like overdrive with less dominant mid-range? Open Road is the overdrive you've been searching for. Finally, an overdrive pedal that delivers grind and girth. Clear low end, sparkling highs, and none of the mid-range hump found in most other dirt boxes. Play a sixstring chord and all the notes ring through. Play a single note line and it sizzles, punch a power chord and it grinds. Open Road features a very interactive tone circuit, effecting not only high-end roll-off, but gain structure as well. At any setting, at any volume, Open Road produces organic amp-like tones that might cause you to leave it on all the time. Works great on bass too!

Maxon OD808 Overdrive Originally released in 1979, the OD808 was one of the first tube-amp overdrive simulators to hit the market. Its smooth, creamy crunch tone caught on quickly, and helped to launch a long line of predecessors as well as imitators. Today, the OD808 design is without a doubt the most used, most imitated and most lauded overdrive circuit of all time. The reason for this is simple tone. Simply put, the OD808 provides the natural, mild overdrive of a tube amp without sacrificing your guitar's original tone. In addition, it can be used as a clean booster to provide increased gain without compromising the sound of your amplifier. Whether it's used as an overdrive or a booster, the Maxon OD808 is the closest you can get to the classic sounds of 1970's rock guitar in a compact effect pedal.

Maxon AF9 Auto Filter Originally introduced as a key component of analog synthesizers, envelope controlled filters came into prominence in the early 1970s with the release of the legendary Mutron III. Envelope filters are wah-wah type sliding filters that are triggered by an input voltage. Unlike standard wah pedals whose center frequency is controlled by moving a treadle, an envelope filter's center frequency is controlled by playing dynamics, allowing for an almost unlimited variety of effects based on expressive nuances in a player's performance. From simple wah-wah's to outer-space noises, the AF-9 provides the most desirable swept filter effects in a compact, user-friendly package.

Rate, Depth and Regeneration controls allow the user to dial in everything from shimmering chorus and vibrato to hollow, metallic overtones to thick, jet-like flanging sweeps.

Maxon PT999 Phase Tone With its single knob and switch, the PT999 Phase Tone is deceptively simple. Yet packed into this tiny blue box are a host of the most authentic 70's era phasing effects available in a current production unit. Simply by adjusting the unit's Rate control a wide variety of expressive phasing nuances can be coaxed from the PT999, all of them whisper quiet and amazingly transparent. The PT999's minimalist circuit frees your guitar tone to be as smooth and responsive as it is when served up a la carte (or a la effect, as the case may be).
