Gibson Les Paul 1960 Special Single Cutaway VOS TV Yellow
The two-pickup Les Paul Special was introduced in 1955 as an intermediate model, positioned between the low-cost Les Paul Junior and the Les Paul. It was originally available only in a single-cutaway, TV-style limed mahogany finish. A double-cutaway Special and cherry red finish option were introduced in 1959. The 1960 Les Paul Special Single Cutaway is now part of Gibson's Vintage Original Spec series. Like all VOS (Vintage Original Spec) Series instruments, the 1960 Les Paul Special Single Cutaway VOS is handcrafted for comfort and playability in the Gibson Custom Shop. The construction, neck profile, hardware, and electronics are period accurate, and a special nitrocellulose finish treatment gives it the patina of a gently aged vintage guitar. Includes Gibson Custom Shop case, a certificate of authenticity, and custom care kit.

Gibson Les Paul Junior 1957… In 1955, the competition to develop and market solid body electric guitars that were both affordable and professionally built was heating up. Just three years earlier, Gibson had introduced the incredible Les Paul model with a $249.50 price tag (including case), yet increased competition was triggering the exploration into new directions that would eventually yield a wide variety of new and innovative Gibson products at various price points. Among those new products was the Les Paul Junior single cutaway model in 1955—a stripped-down, affordable alternative to the more expensive Les Paul model. It was given a dark brown color around the guitar’s edge, with a golden sunburst shading in the middle of the body. This finish would eventually become known as Vintage Sunburst.

Gibson Les Paul Custom Shop… The Gibson VOS 57 Les Paul Goldtop is an electric singlecut guitar which follows the VOS (Vintage Original Spec) that make these series of guitars Gibson's next step in their journey towards perfection. Seth Lover’s fabled ‘Patent Applied For’ humbucking pickups were added to the Les Paul Model in 1957. These dual coil pickups, quieter yet more powerful than the single coil P-90s that preceded them, combined with the ABR-1 to create a guitar with unprecedented sustain and tone. The Gibson VOS 57 Les Paul Goldtop is equipped with BurstBuckers to faithfully replicate the warm, vocal quality and rich harmonic content of the legendary originals.

Gibson Les Paul Custom Cand… The Gibson Les Paul Custom CAB V.O.S. is modeled after the legendary mid-50s model yet it also comes with some modern features. The mahogany top of the Gibson Les Paul Custom CAB V.O.S. is hand-carved, and it's fitted to a mahogany body with tone chambers to reduce weight and improve resonance. The neck of the Gibson Les Paul Custom CAB V.O.S. is made of mahogany and comes with the traditional rounded 50s Gibson profile, the rosewood fingerboard features beautiful block inlays. The Gibson Les Paul Custom CAB V.O.S. is equipped with two humbuckers: a 490R in neck position which delivers an authentic PAF sound and a 498T in bridge position that delivers a higher output with strong highs and mids due to the Alnico V magnets. The Gibson Les Paul Custom CAB V.O.S. features gold hardware and comes in a candy apple blue finish.

Gibson Les Paul 1958 Plain… The 1958 Les Paul Standard reissue produced today by Gibson Custom is true to all of the original instrument’s features and characteristics, including Gibson’s traditional hand-carved “plain” maple top and solid, non-weight relieved mahogany body. The headstock is made from Holly head veneer, as opposed to fiber, just like it was in 1958, and the vintage-style tulip tuners are mounted in a straight line, also as they were on the original. The 24 ¾-inch scale length neck is made from one solid piece of mahogany, and attached to the body using a long neck tenon — one of the Les Paul’s more distinguishing characteristics of the 1950s. The neck is topped by a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard outfitted with acrylic trapezoid inlays matching the size and color of the originals. Of course, two of Gibson’s legendary Burstbucker pickups deliver all the subtle variations of true, classic humbucker tone by using historically “unmatched” bobbin windings and Alnico II magnets. Other historical appointments include CTS potentiometers, bumble bee capacitors, rolled crème-colored fingerboard binding, single-ply thin binding around the body, and period-correct switchwasher and jackplate. The 1958 Les Paul Standard comes in either a V.O.S. or Gloss finish, and with the standard Gibson Custom case, custom care kit and certificate of authenticity.

Gibson Les Paul Standard Ba… Way back in 1952 the Les Paul Standard established itself as the finest solidbody electric guitar available to the six-string player. The Les Paul Standard Bass from Gibson USA takes that legendary styling and the classic features of the Les Paul's design and construction and applies them to the low end, with an "oversized" Les Paul body that is more proportional to the dimensions of the bass guitar, to give you a bass with traditionally elegant styling, but a tone all its own. The look is so familiar you'll do a double-take to confirm that this is indeed a four-string bass, and the Les Paul Standard Bass does for the low end what its six-string predecessor does for lead guitar. From gut-thumping rumble to punchy funky snap, it's also extremely flexible and suitable to any genre, thanks to the simple yet versatile pickup and electronics complement that has made the Les Paul six-string so adaptable for nearly 60 years. All this, and it has looks to kill in your choice of nitrocellulose finish in Heritage Cherry Sunburst, Goldtop, or Ebony Black.

Gibson ES335 Dot Reissue Fi… History speaks for itself. The ES-335 is one of the most important guitars of all time. Right from its introduction in 1958 as the world’s first semi-hollowbody electric guitar it has been a mainstay of players eager to balance the gorgeous, round, mellow tones perfect for jazz and blues with the edge and sustain of a full-blooded solidbody. Today the Gibson Custom Shop creates exacting duplicates of the ES-335 as it first left the Kalamazoo plant in 1958. That year just 267 were built, but the original vintage 335s grew steadily in popularity, peaking in 1967 thanks largely to Eric Clapton’s high-profile use of a cherry ES-335 in the band Cream.

Gibson Les Paul Classic Plu… Utter the phrase “Les Paul Standard” and most players will bring a clear visual and sonic image instantly to mind. For the rockers among us, chances are that this vision will embody the Les Paul Classic Plus Top from Gibson USA, a powerful embodiment of a legendary guitar that looks every lick as good as it sounds. Crafted from premium tonewoods, the Les Paul Classic Plus Top carries a highly figured Grade-AA maple top, which looks absolutely stunning beneath your choice of Vintage Sunburst, Heritage Cherry Sunburst, Trans Ebony Burst or Manhattan Midnight finish, all in high-gloss, hand-sprayed nitrocellulose lacquer. Classic Les Paul Standard appointments such as acrylic trapezoid fingerboard inlays and cream body and neck binding are accompanied by a deceptively powerful pair of humbucking pickups mounted “open-coil” for a modified look that sits great with the guitar’s lack of pickguard, which also serves to show off the Les Paul Classic Plus Top’s gorgeous wood. And, to top it all off, players can choose their preference of rounded ’50s or slim ’60s neck profile. Gibson Hardshell Case included.
