 Fender American Vintage 62… The double-bound alder body and multi-ply pickguard that dressed up the ’62 Telecaster guitar distinguished it from its Butterscotch predecessor. And rosewood, originally introduced for cosmetic reasons because maple was prone to showing wear, quickly grew in popularity with the warmth it added to the classic Telecaster tone. In the spirit of the original, our American Vintage ‘62 Telecaster Custom guitar has a C-shaped maple neck with a 7.25”-radius rosewood fingerboard. It also features a pair of ’62 Custom Tele single-coil pickups, a vintage Tele bridge with threaded steel saddles, and the original Tele circuit with three-position switch. Fender case included.

Inside and out, the '60 Stratocaster Relic guitar from the Fender Custom Shop is a detailed recreation of its Kennedy-era ancestor. It features an alder body, '60s C-shaped maple neck, and-for the first time in its history-a smaller truss rod and slab laminated rosewood fingerboard with clay dot markers. The pickup design is faithful to the original right down to the materials and winding, producing a characteristically smooth and glassy tone. Under the hood, we've even replicated the finish undercoating and the crude pickup-wiring routing in the body. This Fender Stratocaster guitar has been given the Fender Custom Shop "Relic" treatment—built to show years of natural wear and tear; with nicks, scratches, worn finish, rusty hardware and aged plastic parts.
