Dave Smith MoPho Keyboard
The Dave Smith Instruments Mopho Keyboard is a much requested keyboard version of the popular Mopho monophonic analog synthesiser. This offers the same compact, affordable and powerful functions as its brother but with more knobs, switches and of course, a 32-note weighted keyboard. The voice architecture of the Mopho is identical to a single voice of the Prophet '08, but with a couple of unique twists. DSI have added two sub-octave generators, one per oscillator for additional girth and crushing bass. It also has an audio input that lets you process external audio and mix Mopho's own audio output back in pre-filtered - for feedback effects that range from subtle distortion to extreme skronk.

Dave Smith Tetra Tetra's voice architecture is the same as Mopho's, with a couple of notable differences. There is no external audio input, but input gain is now programmable for total recall of feedback settings. Other features include separate outputs for each of the four voices and, for the first time ever on a DSI synth, USB support. Tetra is expandable. Up to four units can be chained for 16-voice polyphony. Or add one or two units to a Prophet '08 for 12- or 16-voice polyphony. The Prophet '08 factory programs are included, so Tetra is sort of a "mini Prophet" right out of the box. A Prophet '08 can also be used as a hardware programmer. And, as with Mopho, there will be a free, downloadable editor for both Mac OS and Windows. Tetra delivers a ton of bang for the buck and will appeal to a broad range of new and repeat customers.

Dave Smith Poly Evolver The Poly Evolver Keyboard is DSI's flagship synthesizer, a nearly-knob-per-function knockout that sounds unlike any other synth out there—except another Evolver, of course! Don't like a high-end hardware synth that requires wading through endless menus to program? Not an issue with the Poly Evolver's 78 knobs—60 of them potentiometers—and 58 buttons, incuding a keypad for direct access of programs.

Dave Smith Evolver Rack The Poly Evolver Rack essentially quadruples all those Evolver specs! In Program mode, all four voices play the same sound. In Combo mode, voices can be allocated however desired: stack all 4 for a huge unison sound, split or layer the keyboard in any configuration, and/or play one or all sequences at the same time. Each voice can also respond to a different MIDI channel. Each voice has its own stereo output jacks in addition to the mix output. Stereo audio input can be routed to any or all of the voices, enabling parallel audio processing of external stereo or mono signals. The output of one voice can be routed to the input of another for interesting double-processing effects. And multiple Poly Evolvers can be daisy-chained for increased polyphony!

Dave Smith Tempest The Tempest is a collaboration between synth design pioneer Dave Smith and longtime friend and fellow instrument designer Roger Linn. The design of Tempest reflects a rethinking of what a drum machine needs to be in the current era. It’s not so much a drum machine as a new musical performance instrument for the creation, manipulation, and arrangement of beat-oriented music, with an intuitive and efficient use of human gestures. Tempest’s 16 velocity- and pressure-sensitive pads are arranged in an 8 x 2 array to facilitate both real-time and step entry of beats. Two pressure- and position-sensitive Note FX slide controllers provide a unique new method of performance and control.

Dave Smith MoPho Desktop Sy… Mopho is a compact and affordable—but powerful—monophonic analog synthesizer. The voice architecture is identical to a single voice of the Prophet '08, but with a couple of unique twists to distinguish it from its award-winning sibling. We have added two sub-octave generators—one per oscillator—for additional girth and crushing basses. It also has an audio input that lets you process external audio and mix Mopho's own audio output back in pre-filter for feedback effects that can range from subtle distortion to extreme skronk. The Push It button is a manual trigger that lets you play a specific note or latch notes and sequences on. It can also step through a sequence to play short melodic lines without a keyboard. Of course, Mopho can also be used with a MIDI controller or external sequencer.
