Lexicon ships new PCM96 processor
Lexicon has introduced the PCM96 professional stereo reverb/effects processor. Featuring an array of rich, complex reverb algorithms with related delays and effects, the single rack-space PCM96 integrates into the modern studio as a control-only DAW insert or FireWire streaming hardware plug-in. Following in the tradition of the PCM60 and PCM70 signal processors, the PCM96 offers a selection of Lexicon reverbs and effects, including the return of Lexicon's Concert Hall reverb. Digitech announces new TimeBender delay
DigiTech, a leading manufacturer of guitar, bass, and vocal processors, and a Harman International company (NYSE-HAR), will announce its new advanced TimeBender delay at the 2009 Winter NAMM Show. The TimeBender delay features ten delay types including Digital, Analog, along with Fixed Head and Moving Head Tape delays along with a 20 second looper. Going beyond delay pedals as they are known, the TimeBender allows the player to create custom repeat rhythms or patterns on the fly by simply strumming the guitar. Up to 6 taps can be set to quickly create delays that would normally take a rack of effects and hours of programming. If Strum Pattern were not enough, DigiTech has included intelligent harmonies that can be added to the delays. Korg expands Synth Line with microKORG…
Korg has expanded its micro line of synthesizers with the microKORG XL synth. The 37note, velocity-sensitive microKORG XL offers Korg's analog modeling with an ergonomic interface in a portable keyboard. It employs eight-voice, multi-modeling technology; easy parameter editing; USB MIDI cornnectivity; and natural-touch keyboard action. The microKORG XL Utilizes Korg's Radias engine to offer 128 sounds. In addition, external audio inputs let players use any audio source as the waveform, which can then be processed using microKORG XL's synth engine. It also has 17 effects derived from Korg's Kaoss series of dynamic effects processors. Users can apply two effects at a time to any program. Zoom's H4n packs more into recorder
Zoom's new H4n portable hand-held recorder has built-in X/Y stereo condenser mics that allow variable recording patterns at either 90 or 120 degrees. Audio quality has been improved through its new, digitally controlled, high-quality mic pre-amp and its ability to use internal and external mics simultaneously for four-channel recording. It has a large LCD screen, more intuitive interface and on-board reference speaker. Zoom has incorporated H2 features ino the H4n, such as its auto-record and pre-record features. The H4n records high-resolution audio at 24 bit/96 kHz on SD/SDHC media of up to 32 GB and is USB 2.0 compatible. The H4n has a user-friendly, multi-track recording capability along with Hi-Z inputs for recording guitar and bass; variable speed playback capability for phrase training; on-board studio effects; and more than 50 guitar and bass amp modeling settings. In addition, a new stamina mode enables the H4n to operate for 10 hours on a single set of AA batteries.
