Based on a customized EBS MultiDrive pedal made for John Moyer of Disturbed, this pedal is created to satisfy those who look for the heaviest distorted bass sounds available...and might impress guitarists as well! The EBS MetalDrive will be the eighth pedal in EBS Black Label series. The idea behind the pedal was born after modifying a MultiDrive pedal for metal bass player John Moyer of Disturbed, who needed a pedal for bass that delivered not only overdrive but pure metal distorsion. So, EBS techs took on the commission to create the meanest and heaviest distorsion pedal ever made for bass, and came up with the EBS MetalDrive! The pedal works in Standard, Flat and Tubeism mode with controls for Distorsion and Output. The MetalDrive uses True Bypass techniques. The EBS MetalDrive is designed and developed by EBS Sweden AB.

DigiTech releases RP1000 switching sys…
DigiTech's new RP1000 integrated effects switching system features a switchable, external stomp box loop and an external amp loop that enables it to connect easily and control external gear. The RP1000 works with the guitarist's favorite gear, so they don't have to compromise their personal tone. The unit also features an amp/cabinet bypass button that removes its internal amplifiers and cabinet effects, leaving only internal stomp boxes and effects of 200 individual pedalboards. It has a heavy-duty cast metal chassis.

Metal Battle Riff Contest
Throughout the world, from the smallest rehearsal room to the largest stage, Washburn Guitars are recognized as some of the finest instruments on the planet. As part of the Wacken-Universum, W:0:A Metal-Battle has become a very strong name in the worldwide metal music scene. In order to further support the growing metal scene Washburn and W:0:A Metal-Battle have recently teamed up to offer metal music talents a whole new communication platform. Beginning August 4th, 2008 at the upcoming 19th Annual Wacken Open Air Festival, Washburn and W:0:A Meta Battle will announce the first Metal Battle/Washburn Riff Contest. The contest will allow participants 18 and older to upload a 35 second clip of their best riffs to YouTube to be presented on this site and voted on by fans from the metal community. Record your riff at home, at a Washburn dealer, the contest area of a Washburn Exhibition booth or anywhere you like, all that matters is "Are you Metal enough to win?". Riffs must be recorded…
