 Martin HD16RLSH The Martin HD-16 RLSH offers a lot of "bang for the buck" It is a guitar made of solid tonewoods only and it's bracing resembles to the HD standard models. The bracing is called "hybrid bracing" because it is something inbetween the scalloped bracing of a HD-gutar of the standard series and the A-frame-bracing used for the DM and DX-1. The Martin HD-16 RLSH has a lot of bass punch, soft treble and an overall mellow yet strong sound. The treble rings out with nice overtones. It is a nice fingerpicking guitar because it features a good attack due to the scalloped main braces and tone bar. On the other hand it sounds great played with a flatpick and that's what this guitar is meant for.

 Martin BC16GTE The BC-16GTE’s exemplary construction was immediately striking unlike cheaper ABGs that can feel boxy and stiff, the Martin felt supple and responsive. The spruce top’s gloss finish protected it against bruises, and a satin finish guarded the tight-grained mahogany sides, back, and neck. The tuners were smoother than a Kenny G record. The Martin’s ear-tickling harmonic complexity extended across its range, and the fingerboard was free of dead spots. The Martin’s deep body felt large but not unwieldy, and the bass played comfortably whether I stood or sat. Like most ABGs, the saddle placement made the neck’s lower reaches feel like a stretch—that low F seemed awfully far away at first, but it didn’t take too long to get my bearings. The larger body gave the BC-16GTE a much bigger bottom than I remembered from the 00C-16GTAE.

 GHS BCCL Big Core Custom Li… Carlos Santana was introduced to Big Core Strings by his Guitar Technician, Rene Martinez. He has continued to use them and the result is beautifully realized in his new Signature Series. The reason the strings are called Big Core is because they start with a much larger core wire and then wrap around it. This offers a nice fat string that brings heavy tone and a smooth feel. Also the gauges are slightly different then anything else GHS offers. All sets start with half gauges (.0095, .0105) and go up from there. This gauging is of course, caused by the core wire ratio. Gauges: 95-115-16-28-38-48.
