ZVex Nano Head This little marvel is a one-half watt (distorted) powerhouse that will surprise you with its apparent volume. Plug it into a 4X12 (or any 8 to 16 ohm speaker) and listen to it roar! This amp is voiced to deliver classic rock tone, with a very high level of crunch available if it's wanted. Just crank the volume knob around to the level of distortion you desire, from a very quiet (one tenth watt) clean mode to a micro-Marshall (TM) blast when cranked up. I am making myself a little ill (gag!) trying to describe the tone of my Nano, using the same tired old phrases that all the amp and distortion box makers use, but I think it's true... it does a great job of emulating big amps at very reasonable volumes, which makes it exceptionally nice for recording.

Orange TH100 Thunder Twin C… The TH100 has exactly the same controls and preamp section as its smaller sibling, but when running in class AB1 (half power) it makes 35 watts on two output tubes, and 70 watts on four output tubes. Put it to full power (AB2 position) and the amp makes 50 watts with two output tubes and 100 watts with four. Being able to switch to half power means you can reduce the listening volume while preserving the power tube distortion. Just like the TH30, the TH100’s design features the best of the Rocker and TH Series, with two channels. Happy Birthday to the King of the Flat…
This year marks the 75th Anniversary of one of the most distinctive—and most beautiful--acoustic guitars known to popular music. Epi fans know it as the Epiphone EJ-200, and it was, and still is, the king of the flat-tops. The original J-200 was introduced in 1938 and perhaps no more than 100 went into production. It became an instant classic and though it was revived in the '50s, originals are expensive and tough to find. (No one ever gets rid of a '200' super jumbo.) The Epi EJ-200 made this fantastic instrument available to musicians everywhere and for the first time in its history, it's safe to say there are probably more EJ-200s in the world right now than the original designers could have ever imagined. Singers love the "200" for its woody, balanced tone that neatly sidesteps the bass and treble range of the human voice, making it the perfect accompanist for singers. Dreadnought style acoustics can be boomy and somewhat moody in their tone, but the "200" never gets in a sin…

Fender introduces the 50th Anniversary…
Fender is proud to celebrate five colorful decades of the Jaguar guitar by introducing the 50th Anniversary Jaguar model. The instrument takes players back to 1962, when Fender introduced an unusual new guitar that paired a sleekly modified Jazzmaster body style and elaborate control layout with a shorter scale and smaller, brighter pickups with more output. The resulting Jaguar was the fourth and last of Fender's original lineup of standard electric guitars. Perfectly matched to the early-'60s renaissance in design modernism (as exemplified by everything of the era from autos to aircraft to sunglasses to furniture), the Jaguar gradually acquired a fascinating pedigree quite unlike that of any other Fender guitar. A chromed-out, surf-rock staple of the 1960s, it found new life from the mid-1970s-on as a subversively offbeat alternative axe wielded by punk, post-punk, grunge and alt-indie guitar heroes and anti-heroes alike. The same guitar that originally crested waves of r…
