Taylor GSce FLTD Fall Limit… Not only is the rare quilted sapele used for this series visually different from the sapele used elsewhere in the Taylor line, its tonal response is also distinctive. These flatsawn sets have more flex, which translates into greater power and warmth on the low end. A premium European spruce top is the perfect complement, blending elements of Adirondack spruce’s robust output (thanks in part to Adirondack spruce bracing on four of the steel-string models, including this one) with a hint of cedar’s warmth. Quilted sapele and ivoroid appointments, including a diamond “Solitaire” inlay scheme, add elegant sophistication to the guitar.

Taylor 314ce Nylon Spring L… The Taylor 314ce-N-LTD Spring Limited 2012 acoustic-electric guitar for nylon strings is a celebration of innovation - Bob Taylor's. The Grand Auditorium body has the width and depth of a Dreadnought, but its tapered waist and graceful contours make it look like a smaller instrument - and impart balance and presence to the big sound. This makes it a favorite of recording engineers. With its thin, fast neck, this limited edition 414ce-N-LTD plays like a Taylor - which is to say, effortlessly. If you're in the market for huge, balanced, shimmering tone, sexy visuals, and ultra-playability, the Taylor Spring Limited 2012 is the ticket. Taylor Standard Hardshell Black case included.

Taylor 416ce FLTD Fall Limi… Tasmanian blackwood rivals koa’s tone profile — featuring a meaty midrange with the top-end brightness of maple — and adds a splash of rosewood’s low end. Paired with Western Red cedar tops, these guitars will sound woody and warm. Fingerpickers and light to medium strummers will love the warmth, while players with a driving attack might consider the GS and Dreadnought models. The wood-rich appointment package incorporates Rock maple for the contrasting back mini wedge, “fishbone”-style rosette, and binding. Small dot inlays and a satin-finish back and sides support a natural, understated aesthetic.

Taylor 614ce LTD Spring Lim… No two sets of African ebony used for these 600 Series limiteds are alike, as caramel-hued sapwood and dark-chocolate heartwood converge into a dramatic display of abstract art. The wood pairing of ebony and European spruce yields a mix of warmth and rich overtones, and matches well with the Grand Auditorium body for fingerstyle or light strumming. The saturated tone will be especially rewarding to fingerstylists and other players who enjoy chords and notes that ring out. Taylor Cocobolo Grand Audit… One of the heaviest, densest rosewoods around, Mexican cocobolo yields a bright, articulate voice. For this cocobolo/Sitka spruce offering, cocobolo was also incorporated visually into the inlays on the front of the guitars. A band of cocobolo trim traces the top, while the rosette motif features cocobolo as an S-curve that contrasts with buttery boxwood, a slow-growing wood with a density comparable to ebony. Boxwood was also used for a new Split Diamond fretboard inlay, which visually references the rosette's S-curve. Other wood-rich appointments include a cocobolo backstrap and figured maple binding. Tonally, cocobolo's density translates into a beautifully clear, bell-like tone, with a piano-like quality to the low notes. Case included.

Taylor Koa Grand Symphony L… The flamey AA-grade koa earmarked for this series was so seductive we couldn't resist going all-koa. Larry Breedlove's rosette design incorporates a serpentine swath of koa set against creamy boxwood. The koa/boxwood pairing carries over to the Engraved Twist fretboard inlay, in which the design's swirling complexity is tempered with the subtle, organic quality of thin wood lines. A shaded edgeburst around the entire guitar — including the neck — adds a touch of vintage Hawaiian charm that's complemented by rosewood binding, thin white purfling, and Gotoh tuners. Tonally, a koa top should make koa's natural midrange sweetness even more pronounced, especially after the guitar has been played in. Koa guitars also tend to be well-suited for the stage because the initial attack is balanced and focused without being boomy. This Koa LTD is a cutaway Grand Symphony.

Taylor NS24ce Limited Cutaw… Taylor's rosewood laminate NS24 LTDs feature a cedar top, which is normally only available at the NS72/74 level. The Nylon Series has always been about making nylon’s distinctive tonal palette more accessible to steel-string players through slimmer, familiar-feeling Taylor necks, and these are affordably priced enough to justify as a non-primary guitar that can diversify a player's six-string tool box. For guitarists who've always wanted to learn a little Brazilian music, explore some Latin jazz, or master a classical piece, these nylons offer a fun and musically inspiring option. Models are available either with or without a cutaway, and both come with Taylor’s ES-N® electronics.
