De Avedis Zildjian Company viert dit jaar zijn 390ste verjaardag met een nieuw uiterlijk en een verbeterde klank voor de legacy cymbalenlijn – A Zildjian. Al decennia lang vormen A Zildjian cymbalen het hart van ontelbare opnames van generaties legendarische artiesten en bands. In 2013 zet Zildjian de A Zildjian lijn in het zonnetje door de essentie van die klassieke klanken terug te halen. De Zildjian fabriek heeft enkele aanpassingen gedaan aan de rondingen en het gewicht van de lijn om de sweet spot van de A sound te vinden -- dit heeft geresulteerd in verbeterde crashes, rides en hats die perfect de hedendaagse muziekstijlen reflecteren. In 2013 herintroduceert Zildjian ook de 19” en 20” A Zildjian Thin Crashes en 20” A Zildjian Medium Thin Crash en introduceert het een nieuwe 23” A Zildjian Sweet Ride – allemaal als reactie op de vele verzoekjes van drummers naar grotere en dunnere modellen. Zildjian komt met Gen16 AE cymbals
Zildjian is met zijn 400 jaar geschiedenis het oudste familiebedrijf in Amerika, en één van de 300 oudste bedrijven ter wereld. Nu, anno 2011, laten ze de wereld weer zien dat ze niet achterom kijken, maar nog steeds voorop lopen in de ontwikkeling van nieuwe technieken. Het bedrijf wordt op dit moment geleid door de 14e generatie Zildjians, die het nieuwste product hebben vernoemd naar hun kleinkinderen, de 16e generatie. De "Gen16" staat dus voor de toekomst van het Zildjian merk, en zet de toon voor bekkentechniek in de 21e eeuw. Ze noemen het zelf een heel nieuw instrument; het bekken met een echt akoestisch geluid dat dankzij de nieuwe pickup-technologie ook werkt als elektronisch cymbalpad. De duizenden gaatjes in de bekkens verminderen het volume met zo'n 80 procent. Dit betekent dat de drummer zich niet hoeft in te houden, en zich ook in stille situaties volledig kan geven op zijn instrument. Deze gloednieuwe bekkens zijn de nieuwe krachtpatsers van Zildjian. Met de ultieme mix van kracht, projectie en speelbaarheid zetten ze de toon in de rock- en metalmuziek van de toekomst. Door de hypermoderne hamer- en afwerkingstechniek hebben deze bekkens niet alleen een oorverdovend volume maar ook een oorstrelende klank.
