Created in 1958 to celebrate Gretsch’s 75th anniversary, the 6118 Anniversary had an ultra-cool two-tone smoke green finish straight from that era’s Cadillac®. Today’s model still has it, with other features including dual Filter’Tron™ pickups, Space Control™ bridge and Bigsby® B6C vibrato tailpiece.
The Gretsch G6117T-HT Anniversary™ is beautifully reminiscent of the early-’60s sunburst Anniversary™ models. Features include single-cutaway bound hollow body with arched top, three-piece rock maple neck, bound ebony fingerboard with Neo Classic™ thumbnail inlays, dual Hilo’Tron™ pickups, three-position pickup switch, three-position master tone switch, silver plexi pickguard, black headstock overlay with chrome Anniversary plate, Grover® Sta-Tite™ tuners, Space Control™ bridge, Bigsby® B6C vibrato tailpiece and high-gloss sunburst finish.
A customized version of the original 400C Synchromatic™, the 6040MCSS Synchromatic Cutaway Archtop adds a vintage-style Filter’Tron™ pickup. With its fine-grained spruce top and select rock maple back, sides and neck, it’s a truly fine Gretsch® archtop. The body, fingerboard, headstock and pickguard are bound in extra-wide black and ivory celluloid; other features include an easy-playing oval rosewood fingerboard with extra-broad nickel-silver frets, chromatic tailpiece and compensated Synchromatic bridge.
